Things to do while you're here

  • Summertime visitors can swim, sail, or sunbathe at the 27-acre Thornton A. Sullivan Park at 11405 Silver Lake Road. Paddleboats, canoes and kayaks rent for $9 per hour; lifeguards are on duty from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The new playground is also accessible for children with disabilities. For information call 425-257-8300.

  • Drive through at Christmastime and head for 103rd Street Southeast to enjoy the Christmas tree displays on that street and the surrounding area. The neighbors encourage viewers to contribute canned food or money for the Volunteers of America.

    >Fishers looking for rainbow trout can cast their lines at either the dock at Thornton Sullivan park or the dock across the lake at Hauge Homestead park, 1819 121st Street Southeast. Those who prefer their fish cooked can enjoy both the view and the food at Emory's Lake House restaurant, 11830 19th Ave. S.E.
