  • Photo of windmillMarymoor Park, 6046 W. Lake Sammamish Parkway N.E., is one of the region's finest and largest parks. Formerly a family dairy and horse farm, Marymoor is now the gateway to the Sammamish River recreation trail. It features a velodrome, sports fields, tennis courts, playground equipment, picnic areas and a venue for remote-controlled airplanes. 425-296-2966.

  • Marymoor Museum, also in the park, is housed in the former Clise family mansion. The private museum was formed in 1965 to preserve Eastside history. Summer hours: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday; 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Suggested donation -- $2 for adults, $1 for children. 425-885-3684.

  • Farrel-McWhirter Park, 19545 Redmond Road, is a 70-acre "country farm park" bequeathed to the city of Redmond in 1974 by Elise McWhirter. bike, walking and horse trails, a creek, picnic tables, playground equipment and pigs, goats, chickens, ponies and "Ivory" the albino cow. Open daily 6 a.m. to dusk; animals visible from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 425-556-2300.

  • Saturday Market, with fresh produce, arts and crafts, runs May through early October, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Entrance off Leary Way, southeast of Cleveland Street.

  • Bike rentals:
    • Bicycles West. 7905 159th Place N.E. Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m.to 5 p.m. Sunday. 425-885-2151.
