Queen Anne
Things to do while you're here

If you're visiting, check out these spots:

  • "Bye" Kracke Park, corner of Comstock Place and Bigelow Avenue North. Little-known garden park with spectacular views of the city and Mount Rainier. Donated to city by Werner Kracke, who was an avid golfer and gardener.

  • Parsons Memorial Gardens, 650 W. Highland Drive. Family garden of Reginald Parsons given to the city in 1956. One of Seattle's most popular outdoor wedding sites.

  • Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 700 W. Raye Street. This is the resting place for many of Seattle's pioneers, including immigrants from China and the Philippines. Filipino author, poet and labor activist Carlos Bulosan is buried here.
For more information: The book "Queen Anne -- Community on the Hill" offers detailed information on dozens of historic sites to visit on Queen Anne. It is published by the Queen Anne Historical Society, which meets the third Wednesday of the month every other month at McClure Middle School, 1915 First Ave. W.
