If you're visiting, check out these spots:

  • Recreation Pavilion, Terrace Creek Park and Evergreen Playfields and Park comprise a regional recreational area. The pavilion includes a swimming pool, racquetball courts and a weight room. Swimming lessons and programs for all ages are provided. The pavilion, 5303 228th St. S.W., abuts Evergreen, which in turn abuts Terrace Creek.

  • Cafe on the Terrace, 2286 56th Ave. W., is a small restaurant specializing in several dishes, including omelets. Open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.

  • Lake Ballinger Park is a 50-acre park on the shores of 100-acre Lake Ballinger, with a boat ramp and fishing pier. The lake has a three-acre island at its center. No internal combustion engines are allowed on the lake. It is off Lakeside Drive between Ballinger Golf Course and Nile Temple Golf Course.
