If you're visiting, check out these spots:

• Jennings Park -- One of Marysville's most diverse parks is on 51st Avenue just south of Grove Street. Attractions include duck ponds, nature trails along Allen Creek, a WSU Master Gardeners demonstration area (Did you know there are 12 systems for making compost?), a children's play area, a steam donkey engine that dates from Marysville's turn-of-the-century logging days, a carefully preserved pioneer home and a seasonal petting zoo. The zoo is open from Memorial Day to Aug. 16.

• Cedarcrest Golf Course -- Once on the edge of town, this newly renovated municipal course is now in the center of East Marysville's new development. Green fees: $20 general for 18 holes; $16 general for nine holes; $16 and $12 for seniors on weekdays; $10 for juniors ages 10-17 on weekdays. It's at 6810 84th St. N.E. Reservations: 360-659-3566.

• Tulalip Casino -- The Tulalip Tribe's big gaming house offers blackjack, roulette, craps, keno, baccarat and poker almost around the clock. It's open 10 a.m. to 6 a.m. daily at 6410 33rd Ave. N.E. Take the Marysville-Tulalip exit from Interstate 5 and go one block west.

• Cobbler Kitchen -- Ask Marysville residents to name the best place in town to eat, and odds are you'll be directed to the Cobbler Kitchen to try pie. About a dozen kinds of fruit, berry and cream pies are baked daily, and the Almond Joy cream pie seems to be the most popular. It's at 1212 State Ave. Hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.
