Maltby
Things to do while you're here

  • Bring a hearty appetite to the Maltby Cafe, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. seven days a week, at 8809 Maltby Road. Then shop for decorative fountains, birdhouses, soaps, stained glass, and other goodies next door at the Old Maltby Schoolhouse shops. Don't forget to eyeball "Maltby Mayor" Ron Nardone's eclectic sign collection or to admire the giant coffee-cup-shaped espresso stand -- complete with straw -- in the parking lot.

  • Enjoy Maltby Mania from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Maltby Community Park at 20322 Broadway Ave. The annual festival features a full day of music, games, crafts, and other fun for children and adults alike.

  • Turn your car off the main roads and enjoy an old-fashioned country drive, with back roads winding past grassy pastures, long dirt driveways, dappled horses, and gardeners tending their crops of the season. The scenery that inspires Maltby artist Robin James' books is all around, and her work can be purchased at the family's nearby Artistree Gallery at Country Village, 23718 Bothell-Everett Highway.
