Things to do while you're here

If you're visiting, check out these spots:

  • See historic houses: Try the one-hour walking tour of well-preserved old homes on the city's west side, straddling state Route 164 (Griffin Avenue). Pick up the free guide brochure at the Enumclaw Public Library, on Railroad Street at Myrtle Avenue, 360-825-2938.

  • Check out a big lake: Tour Mud Mountain Dam, located 4 miles east of town off U.S. Route 410. Turn right from the highway at the sign marking the park entrance. Viewing of the dam, one of the world's highest earth-and rock-fill flood control structures, is from a deck at the end of a short trail. The park includes wading pools, playground toys and trails. 360-825-3211.

  • Get fresh produce: Check out the Enumclaw Country Market, held 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday from April 25 through Oct. 17, at Griffin Avenue and Railroad Street.

  • Sip a variety of beers: Check out the 28 varieties of brew on tap at the Mint, 1608 Cole St. They'll let you sample to decide which to order. Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. weekdays, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. 360-825-8361.
