Max and Minnie Bauer, married 25 years, pose outside their Broadview house circa 1930. The house, at 721 N. 125th St., was built by Max's father, Joseph, in 1909 and Max's daughter still lives there.

Workers gathered for a group photograph at the Bitter Lake Mill in the early 1900s. Many Broadview homes were built with wood from the mill, including the home of early settler Joseph Bauer, who also worked at the mill.
