History and background on Black Diamond
Saturday, June 28, 1958 Black Diamond Incorporation As Fourth Class Town Sought
A petition asking incorporation of Black Diamond as a fourth-class town was filed yesterday with County Auditor Robert A. Morris. Black Diamond is one of the oldest settled communities in King County. The petition, which contained approximately 120 signatures, siad 1,040 persons reside inthe area proposed for incorporation. The petition will be studied for accuracy of the legal description and sufficiency of thesignatures. If it qualifies, it will be sent to County Commissioners for a public hearing andsetting of a date for the community to vote on the proposal.
