Monday, April 2, 2001

A fishing vessel with 15 people on board disappeared in the Bering Sea early Monday, and two bodies were later spotted in the area, the Coast Guard said.

An emergency locator beacon from the 92-foot Arctic Rose began signaling at 3:30 a.m. in an area about 200 miles northwest of St. Paul Island.

The Arctic Rose is home-ported in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, and is owned by Arctic Sole Seafoods of Seattle, according to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
